Learn from the past, plan for the future. As a student in our department, you will have the opportunity to interact with faculty who are internationally recognized as leading researchers in their fields. Our faculty offer courses that cover the historical core of planning and expand the identity of planning to meet emerging challenges, opportunities, and needs. Our flexible undergraduate and graduate curricula provide the opportunity to integrate knowledge from other areas of expertise on our campus -- from sociology and economics to engineering and international studies -- and to gain perspective through experiential learning.

Plan to make an impact. Your planning education will be closely linked to the professional field of planning practice. Through community-based workshop courses, close interaction with planning practitioners, and opportunities for off-campus experiences -- including international exchange programs -- you will be ready to join the diverse professional world of planning, and will leave with a skillset that prepares you to meet some of the world's most pressing challenges.
