Mansi Sachdev, Alumna of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and GRID program
Mansi Sachdev is an urban planner and strategist whose work focuses on the critical intersection of climate resilience and social equity. As an Alumna of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the Gender Relations in International Development (GRID) program, she has taken a global trajectory, advising municipalities and international organizations on building cities that are not only sustainable but also inclusive. Her practice is rooted in the belief that effective urban planning must actively address the needs of all community members, with a specific focus on gender equity.
In April, Sachdev will share insights from her professional journey in virtual discussion. Her presentation will offer a reflective look at how her academic foundation, particularly her GRID minor, has informed her approach to integrating gender perspectives into urban sustainability projects worldwide.
This event is hosted by the Center for the Study of Global Gender Equity (CSGGE) and co-sponsored by Illinois International Programs; School of Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics; Department of Comparative & World Literature; Department of Urban and Regional Planning; and the Center for Global Studies.
