Abstract:
Institutional planning and its critique in Puerto Rico. An overview of how the formal planning process and governmental and academic institutions have adjusted to the informal reality of the island since the 1940s, including the zigzag between federal and local planning. A look at resulting planning methodologies and participatory approaches and the options of the planner’s role in the public and community spheres.
