Trust the Process: Learning from two big projects in Warrenville, IL

Significant municipal projects don’t just happen; they take time and require intentional actions and a collaborative approach. It is crucial to trust the process and to adjust as needed to achieve a desired outcome that is in the public’s best interest. Two active projects in the City of Warrenville are the new municipal water tower project and the Old Town Redevelopment Project. Learn about these active priority projects and the benefits they would bring to all. This presentation will include background information and overview of the planning process, including the role of TIF, coordination with environmental partners on site remediation, overlay zoning, community engagement and next steps.
Consuelo Arguilles has over 15 years of planning experience in Illinois municipalities, including leadership positions in the Department of Community Development in the City of Warrenville, the Village of Mount Prospect, and the Village of Villa Park. She also serves as Committee Chair of the Municipal Design Review Network (MDRN) Advisory Committee at DePaul and is a member of the Legacy Project, American Planning Association (APA) IL Chapter, APA Latinos and Planning Division, and the Local Government Hispanics Network (LGHN), an affiliate of International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Ms. Arguilles holds a BAUSP from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a MUPP from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
