About Ben LeRoy
Biography
Since graduating from the University of Illinois with a joint JD/MUP in 2013, Ben LeRoy has been involved in the field of urban planning in a variety of roles. From 2013 through 2022, Ben worked for the City of Champaign Planning and Development Department, first as an Associate Planner and later as the City’s Zoning Administrator. In 2023, Ben launched an independent consulting practice, serving both developer-side and municipal-side clients. Ben has taught at DURP since Fall 2018, having led both UP 211 and UP 511. He has also taught at the College of Law since Spring 2020, leading courses in land use law and state and local government. Ben has also held various leadership positions in APA-IL since early in his career. At present, he serves as the co-chair of the APA-IL Legislative Committee.
